FERS Retirement Planner
A fundamental aspect of our role as a Federal Employees Retirement System Planner is to provide impartial education to those Federal Employees approaching retirement and those already retired, helping them make informed decisions about their options. The reality is that there is an abundance of advisors available, both good and bad news. However, it's crucial to recognize that not all financial advisors are on equal footing.
Here at The Spivak Financial Group, we are truly independent Financial Advisors. Our team has 50+ years of combined financial planning experience. Our certifications and licenses allow us to offer a broad array of financial solutions. We are confident that as more FERS pre-retirees become aware of the advantages of financial planning, appreciate the value in collaborating with us as we prioritize client interests, and recognize our commitment through a legal fiduciary oath, more pre-retirees and retirees will feel at ease seeking financial guidance.
If that time is now or soon, we hope you'll consider selecting us as your trusted partner in this journey. We advise Federal Employees all over the United States and utilize virtual meetings to make it very easy to get the information and help you need.

Common FERS Questions
What is FERS?
The Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) is the retirement plan for federal civilian employees hired after 1983. It consists of three components: the Basic Benefit Plan, Social Security, and the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP).
When can I retire under FERS?
Your retirement eligibility depends on your Minimum Retirement Age (MRA) and years of service. Most federal employees can retire at their MRA with 30 years of service, or at age 60 with 20 years, or age 62 with 5 years.
How is my FERS annuity calculated?
Your FERS basic annuity is calculated as: 1% × High-3 Average Salary × Years of Service. If you retire at age 62 or older with 20+ years of service, the multiplier increases to 1.1%.
Serving Federal Employees Nationwide
We work with FERS clients in all of these states via phone and Zoom — no in-person visit required.
